Miniature Cameras - My first polymer project

It's been quite awhile when I got interested in polymer clay. I first saw one in a bazaar where this lady was selling accessories made out of this clay - She has small ice cream cones, donuts, cakes, fruits, and other yummy stuff good enough to eat! I was wondering then how I can make one and knowing how limited arts and crafts stores here are..I kind of forget about this. That is..until I stumbled on a multiply site selling polymer clay miniatures. I got interested on this again and began researching on how I can actually make it.

Just a bit of info about this that I got from Wikipedia - this is a sculptable material based on PVC and contains no actual "clay". It's only called as such because of its texture and its resemblance to clay.

Similar to actual clay, you can mold it and create anything you want. Your imagination is the only limit!

It is baked afterwards to cure it and make it harden.

So.this is my first successful "miniature" - a colorfule HOLGA camera!

The original:

and my creation:

my first baked clay :)

 look how small it is!

it doesn't mean it's easy to make though.. it took me three hours to finish!

and this...
is a burnt Panasonic LX3! haha!
it's actually the first try. Took me three hours to create and then when I baked it..it..it.. melted right before my eyes.. :'(

Apparenty, the temperature was too high.

It broke my heart.

Good thing it wasn't the actual thing.

Now, Im on my next project...

Miniature dSLRs and yummy cakes! Watch out :)
